I know that there is all the talk of solar energy being the way forward. The problem is that so many of the biggest energy consumers are in places that really don't det all the much sunlight. I'm one of these people. I would truly love to have solar roofing shingles on my house and garage roof but where I'm located I don't get a helluva lot of sun. It's just not worth the energy invlved in producing these in the first place

However if you think about it, places like Africa and India get lots of sunlight and yet these places have very poor people living there. It would be great if technolgy was such that electricity could be transported from Africa and India to other parts of the world. I'm no scientist but it would be cool if that could happen.

Anyhow, in the mean time, I just try to switch off any appliance that I'm not using and buy appliances that are energy efficient. That's one great thing to have happened in recent times. It's used to be that F was a normal energy rating whilst now it tend to be A or B. Only the really cheap items are less than that. I've also got solar garden lights which aren't maybe all that great but they are OK.

Apparently the Vactian is going to be creating the largest solar plant to export electricity to Italy. That's pretty cool but I'm really not a religious person so find myself asking "what's the catch?" Somehow I don't beleive that they care all that much about the environment. I mean, they don't seem to be exactly helping with the over population of the world because of their stance on contraception!
