However for many other poor sods lack of water is a real threat. They aren't just worrying about their petunias. They're worrying about whether they'll have enough water to live on. In many cases people are only able to access water if they have enough money. Why should this be? Why should a government or water company own water and deny people access?
Then of course there are companies like Coca-Cola who have their factories in India. Water is taken out of the local supply meaning the farmers are unable to get enough water to water their crops. Normally the water that a farmer uses will simply drain off the field and go back into the system. But when Coca-Cola are shipping their drinks off all around the globe this isn't happening.
Then you will have governments turning rivers in dams meaning the countries further along have their river dried up. In many cases there will be fishing boats stranded on dry land.
It upsets me that people are taken a real advantage of in such a way. It's not like they're asking for that much. Just enough to live on.
